Do a deep-carpet cleaning once in a while, especially if your area rug gets a lot of foot traffic. This will ensure a longer life for your rug. Moreover, deep cleaning is like an appointment with the dermatologist. It will keep your wool rug looking youthful and fresh.
Next, position your wool area rug where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight. Otherwise, it might suffer from fading. Colors will not be as vibrant, which will make the rug look old and worn-out.
Finally, wool is a delicate fabric so you would want to keep spills, especially from acidic food and liquid as far away a possibility from getting to your rug. If this happened, act immediately! Clean it up fast! You can use baking soda to get rid of the odor and acid.
